Looking Back and Moving Forward
As we kick off a new year I wanted to share with you all the excited movement we have achieved this past year. As you remember, one of our goals as the North Central District is to plant 30-50 new Kingdom advancing environments in the next 10 years. This past year together we have seen 6 new environments approved to move forward and begin to take steps towards advancing the Kingdom!
I am intentionally using the language that TOGETHER we are doing this. This is very intentional. Some of these new church plants are ministry sites that are moving forward primarily because of the work of a local church trying to reach into an adjacent community. Some of them are moving forward because an individual or team had a call that I was able to discern with them from my role in the office. Whichever way these new environments are initiated, it is a joy that we are working towards the same goals together. So here are the 6 new ones that were officially approved this year, some so newly approved they haven’t started yet, some which got started before and were approved this year:
Alliance North – Fargo, ND – Dave and Laura Christiansen
Morningstar Family – Elk River, MN – Paul and Deanna Salfrank
Christ Community Church – Rugby, ND – Gary and Jean Dorn
Zion Evangelical Church Minneapolis – Minneapolis, MN – Multisite from Zion Evangelical Church St. Paul
The Seed Coffeehouse and Eatery – Centerville, SD – New Ministry Site from Hillside Community Church in Vermillion, SD
Bena, MN Site – New Ministry Site from Cass Lake Alliance Church (in partnership with the Native American Association)
Please pray for each of these new ministries as they spend the next year finding their footing. This next year there are already 5 potential projects I am working on from my end. Friends and partners: what new Kingdom advancing environments might God be inviting you to work on? If you have an idea or a dream or a burden for another community or group that you would like to share with me I would welcome a conversation with you. Let’s continue to advance towards our goal together!
