Around the District: July 2021
Events
Heart to Heart: July 17 & 24, 2021
We are inviting all pastor’s wives for our annual Heart to Heart meetings where we can come together to share a meal, get to know one another intentionally, and build each other up through prayer. This year, Lisa Scarrow would like to connect with you as pastors’ wives again and give you the opportunity to connect with other pastors’ wives in your area. This is an opportunity to engage with women who understand the joys and challenges of your important role. Lisa will be hosting these gatherings either in her home or at a nearby restaurant in your location. There will be a series of gatherings hosted based off of your location and this will also determine the date that you will meet.
Please RSVP by emailing Lisa Scarrow at scarrowl@ncdcma.org. We hope to see you there!

Dream Incentive Grant
As an Alliance family, we highly value what takes place in the local church and seek to provide support and assistance to the local church in every possible way. Therefore, we invite your church to apply for one of these grants. We want you, your leadership team, and your congregation to dream. What is your dream for your church’s impact for Jesus Christ on your community? Is there something you’d love to do that you believe might well result in people coming to know Jesus, but you simply don’t have the resources? Please read Terry Smith’s letter of invitation for additional information.
Deadline: Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Results: shared on or around December 15, 2021.
Questions: Kim Vincent at vincentk@cmalliance.org.
Crown 30
The Crown 30 track meets the licensing requirements with the C&MA to become a licensed worker for $3,600 (30 credit hours divided in the appropriate subdivisions). Professional Development courses are offered fully online in 8-week modules and the entire certificate can be completed in 18 months. Each student will have a professor-mentor, peer mentors and a local mentor. This year, Crown is offering 2 courses in the Crown 30 series completely free of charge: Understanding the Old Testament and Understanding the New Testament. Your leaders can register for each here: Free Courses - Extensions (crown.edu) Both courses can be articulated for undergraduate credit at Crown if anyone is interested. Each course tries to mix theory and practice so students can begin to apply what they are learning in their local church right away.
